Michael Newman is an internationally recognized senior sales executive with Optical Cable Corporation (OCC, NASDAQ: OCC) with more than 25 years experience in sales management, distribution, strategic planning and marketing.
Newman is a key member of the management team that has led OCC to many significant recognitions, including the Inaugural Compass Award for Excellence in International Trade from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Exporter of the Year Award from Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Commerce Department and the President’s “E” Award presented by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
Newman is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese, which aids him in his role as mentor and coach for sales teams in ten international countries. He was directly responsible for establishing and growing international sales channels for two companies prior to coming to OCC. With OCC, Newman has met or exceeded all quotas throughout tenure, averaging more than $20 million in annual sales internationally and has been consistently recognized for exceptional performance.
